I was given this project for the student agency class, where university organizations would come to request design work from students in the Digital Media and Design program. For the following six months, my task was to create a brand identity to represent a new organization bridging the Health and Wellness Office with the Innovation Labs in the School of Business.

Result

The main facet of this project was the Innovate Wellness Challenge, a competition for ambitious students to pitch their ideas on how to improve and evolve student wellness. The goal was to create a look and feel that could be directly applied to promotional materials physically across campus and digitally through social media. The lightbulb symbol was a must-have for the clients which is a pretty clear and traditional representation of innovation. The bulb design is soft and welcoming and includes people on the inside bringing in the human element of health and wellness. The figures are raising their arms in the air to display the anticipation and excitement surrounding the challenge itself. I then combined the two fonts used for each respective organization involved to bring in pieces of those already existing brands.

The clients were ecstatic about the logo and the aesthetic I had created for the brand. As the challenge grew into an official organization at UConn, I was offered a position to continue working designing material for them.
